This is 1 of 2 prototypes built in 2017.  The other, a sunburst, was finished in time for Summer NAMM.  Soon after, I handed off the sunburst to NYC guitarist Jason Victor to road test.  For Jason, the initial slant bridge pickup on the sunburst version was a drawback. As a life-long Jazzmaster player, that pickup got in the way.  So, I wrapped up this Sonic Blue build and shipped it off to him in a few months later.  Jason played this guitar on tour with The Dream Syndicate, Matthew Sweet, Alejandro Escovedo, Velvet Crush and Jason's own band, Skull Practitioners.  I can't find any video with AE but all the others are mixed in with the photos. This is obviously not a fake relic guitar.  It is a battle-scarred road warrior.  The Wrayman led me to develop the Descendant Vibrato and the viability of that changed the trajectory of my business.  I build only a handful of guitars a year, now.  To date, only 4 Wrayman guitars exist.  The first 2 prototypes that were road tested, a copper one that I took to Summer NAMM 2018, and the Ice Blue Metallic I specifically built for Jason in 2019.  When he bought that, this Sonic Blue guitar came back to me.  I have updated it with a Descendant Vibrato (2024 spec) and a Universal Companion Bridge.  I got rid of the dual mini-switch/half-out-of-phase clunky attempt at something cool and replaced it with a single, tried and true series parallel switch.  Same as the push/pull on my GTO and MG models.  A flip of the switch bypasses the 3-way toggle and combines the pickups in series as a humbucker. I dressed and polished the frets, and it plays wonderfully.  I love the way the topcoat has yellowed turning the sonic blue to more of a mint green.  You can see on the contours were your arm rests and on the belly cut that is against your waist that the sonic blue is still showing, essentially buffed by playing. There is some sort of strap residue at the heel pin.  I dig it.  It would easily come off but then you buff through that cool yellowed lacquer.  I also chose to just plug that extra mini-switch with a hardware store metal hole-plug.  I think it looks cool and retains the vibe of this guitar that has had such a cool life.  Shipping price is for continental USA only.  I will ship internationally, but of course, that will be more expensive.  Please check out all the photos and videos.
